Chalk and Memo boards

Image
I have been making some other projects then just cards lately. This first one is a magnetic memo board for my mom. I spray painted the wooden edge with lindy's starburst sprays and added some glitters. The embelishments are painted with lindy's magicals. The 2 fairies are from Mo Mannings  6 baby fairies set The squirrel is Fluffy on the Lily from  Wee Stamps *** The second on is a chalkboard I made for myself. Also using Lindy's magicals and starburst sprays for the frame and embelishments. The Stamps are Rosie Fairy and Teacup Fairy from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. Close up on the fairies: I am so happy with those fairy boards hope you like them to! *** Sabrina

Dolphins for Mom

Image
For my mom's Brithday I made her a mixed media canvas. In our family we are in love with Dolphins! This image I bought last year to support the charity event for the Clearwater Marine Aquarium . This is the Aquarium where they take care of the dolphins Winter and Hope. Winter is a Dolphin without a tail, and you can see winter in the Dolphin Tale movies. Originaly this image has the mermaid and 1 dolphin.  I wanted 2 dolphins to represent me and my brother, so I merged it with Hope from the hope and winter stamp. Both stamps are from Yampuff and can be found here and here . For the coloring I used copics and I applied the mermaid tail tutorial from the may 2015 Create and learn class at Kit and Clowder. I made it two weeks ago but could only post now as I have now given it to my mom. But I forgot to write down all the colors etc. Sorry. For the Background and the seashells I used Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst sprays to color  them. The scales ar...

Mixed Media Class - Kit and Clowder

Image
Like I mentioned in my mixed media bottle post I subcribed to the mixed media class thought by Alyce Keegan from Kit and Clowder . I have been part of her create and learn classes for a year now and she is an amazing teacher. The mixed media class has 3 projects, today I finished my first one. I used some different items then Alyce but I tired to stay close to the original. Like I didnt have any doilies around so I used some lace to make the 'fan' in her hair.  The flowers are foam, wood and metal.  It was fun to see how the different materials work with the ink. Just a quick list of a couple of items I used: The image is by saturated canary The sprays I used are from Lindy's Stamp Gang. Deplhinium Turquoise, Tibetan poppy Teal, Bells of Ireland Green, Screemin' Banshee Black, Treasure Island Aqua and some splatters or Cattail Copper Brown. I used a Tim Holtz Lace stencil and a doily stencil from the crafters workshop. I dont...

The Bottle

Image
Ok, I told myself a few days ago "Sabrina, Go do Alyce's mixed media class first before you continue on the bottle" Did I listen to myself? Ofcourse not! I was so excited that all my mixed media supplies finally got here and I just had to play with them! I colored up this little genie saturday, see my other post for more details on the colors.  I was so inpired by this image that I just had to finish the bottle! I couldn't get it out of my mind! Now its not perfect I had some problems with some techniques,  like the stencilling with modeling paste that was rather difficult on a rounded surface,  but it did capture the style I was going for so I am quite happy with my first mixed media project. Calling this my 'Before' project after finishing Alyce's Kit and Clowder mixed  media  class I'll make another bottle with the learned techniques :) Materials used: Bottle Gesso White acrylic paint Modeling Paste Glue *...
