Northern Lights Druscilla

Image
Happy Sunday everyone!! Hope you are all enjoying you weekend, I spend mine coloring and reading! So today I have another Tiddly Inks card for you featuring the gorgeous  Druscilla . I colored her a nothern lights background which was a lot of fun to do! It is always so easy to just color an image and leave the background white,  I'm not saying there is something wrong with that cause I do it often myself.  When you add the right papers and embelishments you can make beautifull cards that way. Only I am always a little carefull with my embelishments, I love, love, love the super embelished cards! But I am not great at making them myself. So what I wanted to show today was an image that really didn't need much embelishing because I added a background. A background is such a fun way to transform a image into a scene and you can go so many ways. I could have made her a forest scene and would have gotten a whole different look. So instead of sp

"Lily Rose"

Image
Morning everyone! I had a lovely morning today, waking up and finding out that my card and colored roses for Alyce from Kit and Clowder safely arrived in Australia! Now I finally get to share my new image with you! She wont be uploaded in my shop just yet because she needs a name first! I asked Alyce to name her if she likes to. But I still even without a name I just had to share her with all of you now! So for now the girl in the rosepetal dress: Edit: Alyce just named her Lily Rose I didn't write down my colors used but this is what I remember: Skin: E04/11/21/00/00 Hair: E18/15/YR23/Y21 Dress; R89/85/83/81 and RV100  In the top I only used the lightest colors adding a darker tone as I got to the bottom. And some Close-Ups of the card details: Edit: She is added to my shop:  https://www.etsy.com/nl/listing/450532092/lily-rose-digi-stamp-jpg-png Thanks for reading! Hope you like her! *** Sabrina

Tiddly Inks DT Application

Image
Tiddly Inks is holding a DT Call!  To make my application fit in with the Tiddly Inks spirit I am posting this on a  lovely Tiddly Tuesday! :D I have never been in a Design Team before but I would love the experience.  I love Christy's stamps. They are beautiful, cute and fun! It would be amazing to work more with them.  Also it would be a great motivation for me to make more cards  and projects instead of just coloring a bunch of images and keeping them in a box!! Fairy Tenderhearted  is the digistamp I choose to color up for this card. She is definitly one of my favourites! I put her in a deep blue dress and gave her raven black hair. Colored the sky light violet to just give it a soft background. Copics used - dark to light: Skin: E04, 11, 21, 00, 000 Hair: 100, W9, 7, 5, 3 Blues: B39, 37, 34, 32 (and B00 for the wings) Browns: E47, 44, 42, 40 Touch of E11 in the bird. Sky: V12, 01, 000 and a touch of BV00 I mainly u

Latest colouring projects

Today I want to share with you 2 Kit and Clowder create and learn projects May and June and 1 project that I made using all different techniques I learned over the past year following these classes. I cant believe its be a year already! I haven't done all of them yet but I have been coloring more and more lately as a means of relaxation. I get migraines a lot and after a day of work or on my days of I like to color away my stress. Which helps if everything goes the way I want, haha :P Now I coloured up the May 2016 class featuring a beautiful mermaid by  Janna fairy art Colored this up in may but totally forgot to share! I absolutly loved coloring the sky it looks so magical and I definitly am gonna try that on some other images to! The rainbow gradient was good practise combining different colors and I actually used this technique on a card for my cousin. The June 2016 class is a romantic greek inspired piece featuring a digi called Lady and the

Feathers - part 2

Image
Feathers without her feathers.. haha The no wings version of my new digi stamp made it onto a card today :) Both my stamps come with and without the little headband you see here. Feathers - New digi

Image
Hey all, Today I'd like you to meet Feathers. Feathers isn't just any girl, she has eagle wings! This girl is inspired by the Native American culture. I love dreamcatchers, feathers, fringed skirts and this girl represents that part of me. I colored her in lovely earthtones in combination with turqouise. Colors used: Turquoise: BG49 45 10 Wings: E29 18 15 13 11 Skin: E04 11 21 00 000 R20 Lips: R22 20 Dress: E35 33 51 50 And yes this is the second digi with braided hair, what can I say I love braids. I wear my braided most of the time and I love all the different styles you can do with that. This braid would be created using 4 strands. 1 small braid and 3 regular strands :) Now I love wings but I know there are people out there looking for a little more neutral style so she also comes without wings. https://www.etsy.com/listing/384957706/feathers-digital-stamp-jpeg-png https://www.etsy.com/listing/398458739/feathers-no-wings-digital-

Dolphins for Mom

Image
For my mom's Brithday I made her a mixed media canvas. In our family we are in love with Dolphins! This image I bought last year to support the charity event for the Clearwater Marine Aquarium . This is the Aquarium where they take care of the dolphins Winter and Hope. Winter is a Dolphin without a tail, and you can see winter in the Dolphin Tale movies. Originaly this image has the mermaid and 1 dolphin.  I wanted 2 dolphins to represent me and my brother, so I merged it with Hope from the hope and winter stamp. Both stamps are from Yampuff and can be found here and here . For the coloring I used copics and I applied the mermaid tail tutorial from the may 2015 Create and learn class at Kit and Clowder. I made it two weeks ago but could only post now as I have now given it to my mom. But I forgot to write down all the colors etc. Sorry. For the Background and the seashells I used Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst sprays to color  them. The scales are from

Mixed Media Class - Kit and Clowder

Image
Like I mentioned in my mixed media bottle post I subcribed to the mixed media class thought by Alyce Keegan from Kit and Clowder . I have been part of her create and learn classes for a year now and she is an amazing teacher. The mixed media class has 3 projects, today I finished my first one. I used some different items then Alyce but I tired to stay close to the original. Like I didnt have any doilies around so I used some lace to make the 'fan' in her hair.  The flowers are foam, wood and metal.  It was fun to see how the different materials work with the ink. Just a quick list of a couple of items I used: The image is by saturated canary The sprays I used are from Lindy's Stamp Gang. Deplhinium Turquoise, Tibetan poppy Teal, Bells of Ireland Green, Screemin' Banshee Black, Treasure Island Aqua and some splatters or Cattail Copper Brown. I used a Tim Holtz Lace stencil and a doily stencil from the crafters workshop. I dont

The Bottle

Image
Ok, I told myself a few days ago "Sabrina, Go do Alyce's mixed media class first before you continue on the bottle" Did I listen to myself? Ofcourse not! I was so excited that all my mixed media supplies finally got here and I just had to play with them! I colored up this little genie saturday, see my other post for more details on the colors.  I was so inpired by this image that I just had to finish the bottle! I couldn't get it out of my mind! Now its not perfect I had some problems with some techniques,  like the stencilling with modeling paste that was rather difficult on a rounded surface,  but it did capture the style I was going for so I am quite happy with my first mixed media project. Calling this my 'Before' project after finishing Alyce's Kit and Clowder mixed  media  class I'll make another bottle with the learned techniques :) Materials used: Bottle Gesso White acrylic paint Modeling Paste Glue *

Gini on a Bottle :)

Image
Tonight I have little genie to share with you :) Had so much fun coloring her :D The plan is to make a mixed media bottle for her but it might be a bit to much for a first mixed media project :P At this point the bottle is not really doing what I want,  so maybe ill just make her a card :) This digi is by Maurie Maning and you can find it at her shop here Mo's Digital Pencil I used a lot of colors on this cutie to get a magical pink purple effect. Skincolors: Haircolors: Magical Pink/Purple :) Grey/Silver: Enjoy your evening :) Thanks for reading! *** Sabrina

Cards for my Cousins

Image
Most of my cards go to family and I am lucky to have quite a few cousins who enjoy recieving my handmade cards :) I have two cards for you today :) One was for a cousin who turned 17 two weeks ago,  and the other one for a cousins daugther who turned 3 yesterday. First my Aurora Wings card for her 17th birthday. What I love about Aurora Wings is that they have fantasy themed images perfect for adulds and teens. I used copics but I can't recal the exact colors used forgot to write them down. I think they where E04/11/21/00/000 which is my go to skincolor and for the teals BG78/49/15/23 for the purples either V09/06/04 or V17/15/12 or a mix possibly.. and the V00 RV11/21 for the pink/lilac fins. Because the image is so detailed I kept the card Clean and Simple :) ---- The second card is with Lomasi from Wee Stamps, I used the rubber stamp from whismy. Wee Stamps is for sure one of my favourite brands and has so many super cute images! I
